DESIGN TO SPECIFICATION AND CUSTOMIZATION
Linear Magnetics has extensive experience in meeting specific customer requirements through the design and development of custom products and solutions. Examples of our customization capabilities are shown below.

POWER DISTRIBUTION UNIT

This project involved the development, documentation and manufacturing of a power distribution unit with multiple inputs and regulation of 11 outputs. The Power Supply was developed and manufactured in accordance with American and Canadian standards.
The unit is rated at 2500VA with voltage selectable input - ranging from 100 Volt to 240 Volt. The unit includes an intelligent soft start with sequential load distribution, an output impedance of <0.5 Ohm, and an emergency circuit breaker.
The unit has 11 outputs designed for different power rates, Outputs individually controlled by relays powered by a Switch Mode Power Supply.

MEDICAL GRADE ISOLATION UNIT

For this project, our customer requested an isolation unit for use in scanner inputs. All the components, including the transformer had to be appoved to medical standard UL2601 as well as CSA medical standard.
The final solution is a low impedance medical isolation unit providing protection from overload and short circuit conditions. The features included soft start, over-temperature protection and circuit breaker. The components are mounted in an all metal enclosure to meet all customer mechanical (and color) requirements.
The transformer is a toroidal 5600VA with dual primaries and three secondary outlets.
The three secondary outlets are 120 volts in different power rates.

3 PHASE TOROIDAL TRANSFORMER

Customer requested a tree-phase transformer in low-profile design, that needed to fit into their 19" rack.
The final design consisted of a support fitted for the rack, three separate 1000VA transformers, a phase control circuit, LED's for power on/off, and 3 separate outlets for peripheral equipment. The main output connection is accessible via an internal screw terminal block.
